Kyle Korver Shoes

Kyle Elliot Korver is renowned for being a sharpshooter and ranks among the best NBA prolific 3-point field goal scorers. The 6ft 7in shooting guard made his way into the NBA after the New Jersey Nets drafted him in the second round of the 2003 NBA draft. However, he was immediately traded to the Philadelphia 76ers as the Nets were facing a financial crisis. This came to be a defining moment for the young star as the line ‘traded for a copy machine’ brought out his aggression. After proving to have great 3-point scoring abilities, Kyle Korver re-signed with the 76ers on August 2, 2005, for a $25 million contract.

The rise to stardom

While Kyle Korver rose to become one of the respected shooting guards while with the Philadelphia 76ers, it was not until he was traded to the Utah Jazz that the basketball world appreciated his ability. In the 2009/2010 season, Korver set a new single-season 3-point shooting record beating the initial percentage set by Steve Kerr in 1994/1995. Unfortunately, his injuries came in the way of achieving much more, and he spent most of his time on the bench. Korver later played for Chicago Bulls (2010-2012), Atlanta Hawks (2012-2017), Cleveland Cavaliers (2017-2018), before returning to Utah Jazz, and finally Milwaukee Bucks in 2019 to 2020.

The converse athlete who later signed for Nike

Kyle Korver chose to wear Converse when he got into the NBA and later had a sneaker deal with the brand. While converse did not provide exciting models for the superstar, he stayed with the brand for quite a good number of years. Korver later opted for Nike and has since then become stuck with the brand. Among the sneakers that Korver, who wears shoe size 14 has rocked in the past years, are:

Nike Zoom Freak 1

For the 2019/2020 season with Milwaukee Bucks, Korver settled for the Nike Zoom Freak 1. This signature shoe was a long awaited release for Antetokounmpo, who becomes the 22nd player to have his sneakers line with Nike. These shoes feature four containment bands under a mesh upper and a traction pattern to support aggressive movements and high-speed euro-step.

Nike Kyrie 3

After developing foot problems, Kyle Korver opted for the Nike Kyrie 3 that had superior support compared to the Kobe AD shoes. This was the third edition for Kyrie Irving, and it became highly popular in the 2017/2018 season. It features superior traction, Nike zoom Air cushioning, and flexible support, thanks to Flywire technology. Korver was hopeful that these shoes would reduce pressure on his left foot after suffering an inflamed tendon as he gets back on his best form.

Nike Kobe AD Mid

Kyle Korver opted for the Nike Kobe AD Mid, which was Kobe’s first post-retirement sneaker. These low-top sneakers were popular among most basketball players, and they dominated the 2017/2018 season. Nike Kobe AD Mids were loved for their good traction and balanced cushioning as it has a full-length Lunarlon cushioning plus an Air Zoom unit.
