Thorogood Beloit Review

Thorogood Beloit Review

Thorogood is one of the well-renowned boot brands that continue to deliver safety and comfort. Weinbrenner Shoe Co, which manufactures Thorogood boots, had its first outset back in 1892, with the Thorogood brand emerging in 1918. The company has since produced everything from military shoes to job-specific footgear such as the classic lace-to-toe roofers’ boots.

Thorogood boots are tough and are meant to provide support all day long to get the job done. From carpenters to firefighters and anyone working for a living, these boots will get you through the day with the max comfort level.

Thorogood Beloit, in particular, has been developed in Mansfield, Wisconsin, employing techniques that have been perfected since the company first hit the market, making it one of the best made-in-America boots. Reading on the company’s website, Thorogood sources the finest materials to create a tough, comfortable and supportive boot that you can count on.

The Beloit comes with a clean and classic plain toe design and premium Horween Chromexcel Leather for the construction. Nitrile cork outsole and Goodyear welt construction also make the boot great and durable.

Thorogood Beloit: Description

The Beloit work boot has been designed to make it easy to get through the day with its durable leather construction and internal comfort technology. It boasts excellent customer support promises to keep you going from dawn until dusk. The stated Horween Chromexcel Leather means the boot will last longer and feel comfortable, while the classic lace-up system comes in handy for a secure fit.

The boot has been built on #60 Goodyear storm construction and features smooth leather lining for a comfortable fit. The Beloit also comes with a removable dual-density footbed that provides underfoot comfort and shock absorption.

It weighs in at 2 lbs 2 oz and the shaft measures 6 inches. It’s good to note that product measurements were taken using size 12 and width D, medium. That means the measurements may vary by size.

While Thorogood boots are said to deliver great comfort levels out of the box, Beloits are likely to take a while before breaking in properly. Some stated that there’s actually nothing so uncomfortable about them, and you’ll achieve a sense of relief through the first true wear. Thorogood Beloit is an indestructible boot that doesn’t require a month of deep, dreadful break-in sacrifices.

Thorogood Beloit: Looks

In all the best ways, Thorogood Beloit looks like a work boot. It is definitely chunky but not overly so. It comes with sets of eyelets that lead to three-speed hooks, plus another set of eyelets on the top which is something that most people would hardly consider using. On the bright side, you will love the triple stitch that runs from the Vamp to the backstay. You will also find the branded Thorogood logo on the rear that makes these boots very much comparable to other Thorogood models.

The Goodyear welt construction is meant to last long life overlooks, though the outsole is not as thick as others.

Perhaps the main limitation as far as looks are concerned is that Beloit isn’t a boot that you can dress up in any meaningful way. However, it can be used for the majority of casual situations as well as a work boot, especially when kept in decent condition.

These handcrafted Beloit boots are designed to support the modern-day growers of art, technology, and manufacturing, so they execute their tasks in a style.

Beloit shoppers will appreciate the hand-rubbed Horween Chromexcel Leather in this Made in America footgear. That’s pretty impressive since the sturdy Goodyear welt construction means these boots will last you a lifetime. Thorogood iconic No.60 last is recognized as the gold standard in men’s casual footwear and certainly makes these boots fit like a glove. It is a great option for those who know the difference between made fast and made to last.

What Reviewers Say

With its rugged structure and excellent comfort level, Thorogood boasts excellent customer support. You’re likely to receive some compliments as the Natural CXL works great with jeans and chinos. It is a great pair of boots but some stated that it may take a while to break in.

Once broken in, the boots are extremely comfortable. The insoles featured here provide some moderate cushioning, but you can always swap them out with custom inserts, maybe for extra arch support.

Others stated that Beloit tends to run at least a half size large. That said, it might still be ok ordering your normal size, especially if you like wearing thick boot socks or using thicker insoles/orthotics. Width is agreeable for a length-fitting boot. They also appear light in color in comparison to actual pictures (more like a tan than a light brown) but overall, it’s a reliable boot made in the USA.

Coming down to performance, Thorogood Beloit is a work boot. The boot is not known for the best cushioning/ arch support and so might take some time to break in. It’s strongly made, very comfortable, but the arch support is moderate. Perhaps these aren’t the best for lounging or wear-to-the-game boots but will serve amazingly well in a physical work environment.
